Advanced Suspension Technology
Advancing Suspension Above and Beyond Anything Out There.
Since 1917, Oshkosh Corporation has pioneered multi-wheel drive systems and suspensions. Today, the company's patented TAK-4® independent suspension system sets the standard for all-terrain, off-road performance in the defense tactical vehicle industry. TAK-4 technology was first introduced with the U.S. Marine Corps MTVR in 1998, and is now applied to a full range of heavy, medium and light tactical vehicles including the LVSR, PLS A1 and M-ATV from Oshkosh, as well as RG31A3 SOCOM, RG33 and Cougar MRAPs.
We are proud that Oshkosh suspension system ingenuity has helped increase survivability, payload and performance across entire fleets. And we continue to drive innovation forward. Our engineers and product experts are continuously pushing the limits of suspension-related technologies. In fact, the next generation TAK-4 independent suspension system is in development and being displayed as a key component of our LCTV technology demonstrator – a vehicle that successfully endured the extreme terrain of the world renowned SCORE Baja 1000 off-road race in November 2010.
